Mount Morris: At age 93, Lonn passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Livingston County CNR in Mount Morris, NY. He was born on November 14, 1930, in Coldspring, New York to the late Dana and Elsie Rathbun. Lonn is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Sherman and Thelma Bailey. Survived by his children, James (Mary Jane) Rathbun, Sue Ellen Rathbun, and Michael (Jill) Rathbun, and his 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Shortly after graduating from York High School, Lonn went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force.  He was a Koren War Veteran and served his country for 14 years.  After his honorable discharge in 1965, he went on to work as a computer supervisor at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Canaseraga: At age 98, Roberta passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. Nunda: At age 82, David passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home in Nunda. He was born on July 20, 1941, to the late William and Nellie (Conrade) Rynders. David will be missed by many… He wore many hats in his lifetime: Significant other, husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and a second dad.  David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling… David mostly enjoyed driving, he drove just about anything, if it had 2 or 28 wheels he drove it … He also was an animal lover, enjoyed being with family and friends sitting by the fire or at the kitchen table.  He had a strong connection with the Native American culture (Blackfoot Indian). He wore it well, with his boots, snapped western shirts, his turquoise jewelry, and belt buckles. He also dedicated his time to the Freemasons and the Scottish Rite for over 60 years.

Lima: Ronald “Ron” J. O’Brien, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family and his loyal dog, Walter, by his side on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Born on May 4, 1951, to the late Donald and Wilma O’Brien, Ron’s warm heart and kind spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Ron is predeceased by his son, Kevin O’Brien; and his brother, Glen O’Brien. Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Patricia “Pat” O’Brien, his children, John (Andrea) O’Brien, Lisa O’Brien, Jenn (Mike) Torres, and Tim Reynolds (Katie Schneider), his siblings, Gary (Debbie) O’Brien, Randy (Cheryl) O’Brien, and Tom O’Brien, his grandchildren, Jonathan (Katherine), Christopher, Ashleigh, Sophia, Isabel, Matthew, and Elijah, along with several nieces, nephews, and a multitude of cherished friends. Ron’s love and laughter brought joy to countless lives, and his memory will forever be treasured.

Ron dedicated 35 years of his life to Eastman Kodak Company, where he forged lasting friendships and contributed his talents to the field of photography. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life; for 40 years, Ron volunteered with the Lima Fire Department, embodying a steadfast dedication to his community’s safety and well-being. Additionally, Ron devoted 14 years to the Honeoye Falls-Lima school district transportation dept., leaving a positive impact on numerous students and staff members. His selfless spirit and tireless work ethic were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Outside of his professional and volunteer endeavors, Ron found immense joy in coaching little league baseball and All Stars in Lima, where he shared his passion for the game and served as a mentor to many young athletes. His unwavering commitment to nurturing and empowering others will leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of those he touched.

Hemlock – Sarah (Sally) Muscato, age 92, died peacefully at home on April 21, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She grew up on a farm in Livonia Center and met and married the love of her life, Anthony Muscato in 1952. Sally is predeceased by her beloved husband and her sister Mary Downey Muscato.  She is survived by her three children; Patty Muscato and Michael Muscato, both of Hemlock, and Sally Collins of Livonia; three grandchildren, Jennie Spencer, Mark (Marcy) Collins, and Sara (Brenden) Schlinger, and eight great-grandchildren, Joshie DeLucia, Joe Delucia, Noah Spencer, Mckenna Collins, Mattie Collins, Anthony Collins, Jeremiah Schlinger, Hailey Schlinger. She is also survived by her sisters Katie Stewart and Elsie Patterson, brother and sister-in-law Dan and Margaret Downey, and sister-in-law Patricia Muscato, along with many nieces and nephews.

Sally was a member of St. Matthew Church for many years. She enjoyed mowing her lawn and working in her flower gardens, watching the NY Yankees, and traveling for many years with her friends to country music shows. Mostly though, she was a devoted mother and grandmother/great-grandmother. What brought her the most enjoyment in life, was spending time with her family.

Honeoye/Avon:  At age 77, Howard passed peacefully on April 21, 2024 at the Hospeace House in Naples, NY.  He was born on March 22, 1947 in Hume, NY to the late Clarence and Pearl Merrell.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Charlene Merrell and siblings, Bud Merrell, Sandy Egan, Allan Merrell, and David Merrell.  Survived by his daughter Danine (Sean) Dolphin of AZ, and sons, Shawn Gillette of Rochester, and Shane Merrell of Manchester; granddaughter Mariah Schneider; brothers, George “Coach” (Pauline) Merrell and Arliss (Lynn) Merrell; also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Howard “Hooter” Merrell was a sports enthusiast all his life.  He umpired baseball, refereed football, and was a line judge for many years.  He loved to fish, especially with his close friend David Hill, who he also worked with.  Howard helped build many houses and did construction work for a good part of his life.  He loved to talk about living in Avon, knowing the history of the community, families that resided there, and who played baseball, basketball, football, or any other sports that he took interest in.  Howard was also a past member of the Dansville Fire Department Hook & Ladder.  He was a Buffalo Bills fan for all his life.

Geneseo: At age 72, Steve passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his son’s home in Livonia. He was born on February 5, 1952, to the late Lewis and Lois (Bailey) McMurtry. Survived by his sons Jason (Mary) McMurtry of Livonia, NY, and Jacob (Nancy) McMurtry of Wilmington, NC. Lakeville: At age 86, John passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 19, 2024.  He was born on October 7, 1937, in Warsaw, NY to the late Daniel and Ruth Koch. After John graduated from York Central School he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1957-1960. After his discharge from the Air Force, John met the love of his life, Jennie, and was married on October 28, 1961. He also went on to complete his higher education at RIT. John and Jennie had three children and he worked as an electronic technician for the Eastman Kodak Company.

John was a devout member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, a founding member of A-On-DO-Wa-Nuh Sportsman Club in Cuylerville, NY, a member of the Conesus Lake Sportsman Club in Lakeville, NY, since 1974, and a private pilot instructor since 1975. But most of all, John loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Elmer married Gerry in 1970 and raised his 3 children in the house he built in Geneseo. He remarried in 1992 to Jo Ann and gained a stepson. They spent the last 28 years together in Nunda before her death in 2021. Elmer dedicated many years of his life to the New York State Department of Transportation from where he retired. He found solace in the great outdoors, hunting, working on a tractor, or vehicle, or using his wood-mizer. Elmer had a love of flannel shirts, jeans, and boots, he also had a sweet tooth for chocolate and ice cream. He cherished moments spent with his family and friends which would often include family dinners and attending wing night. Elmer will be deeply missed by his longtime friend John Farrell. He was a good, hardworking, loving man who touched many lives with his kindness and humor. Elmer has left some wonderful memories that will never fade from our hearts.

After the War, Joe came home and worked for the Town of Wyoming Cty and then moved on to a new career with Pennwalt Corporation in Rochester, NY. Joe was an avid hunter and very proud of his gun collection. He had a passion for motorcycles and traveled throughout the country with friends. Spending time with his family and visiting with friends at Minnehans is what Joe enjoyed the most.Joe spent his last months at the VA in Bath, NY where he was compassionately cared for.

Conesus, NY:  William August Fuller, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024 with family at his son’s home in Conesus that he helped build.  He was born to the late Walter and Gertrude Fuller on May 15, 1939 in Medina, NY.  He was predeceased by his brothers Walt Fuller, Larry Fuller, Chuck Fuller and Gerry Fuller.  He leaves behind his children Debbie (Jeff) Neumann and Randy (Kim) Fuller, sister Evie (Cliff) Johnston, sister-in-laws Judy Fuller, Karen Fuller, Pat Fuller and Carol Fuller, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way, who will all fondly remember their Poppy/Donald Duck along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was a man who loved woodworking and with great craftsmanship built many homes in and around Conesus Lake and Colorado.  Wild Bill had many friends and loved travelling.  He spent a lot of time in Maui, but his favorite place to be was Thailand.  He enjoyed having coffee with his buddies and swapping stories.  He was an avid runner with many successes and had numerous adventures.  His weekend gatherings and antics will echo on.  LMD!!

Livonia:  At age 88, Jim passed peacefully on April 14, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.  He was born on March 19, 1936 in Mineola, NY to the late Wilson and Hulda (Wedin) Turner.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Timothy Turner and brother Wilson “Bill” Turner.  Survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Jean Turner and children; Steve (Patty ) Turner of PA, Jeff (Sue) Turner of CT, Eric Turner (Sharon Wise) of Livonia, and Julie (Reade) Moulton of Dansville; grandchildren, Rick (Cassandra) Turner, Heather (Thomas) Pyle, Travis Moulton (Amanda Rizzoni), Daniel Turner, and Shawn Turner; great-grandchildren, Trent and Keegan Turner; several nieces and nephews.

Jim served his country as a member of the Coast Guard reserves.  He married Jean in 1955 and was a devoted husband for almost 69 years.  He married Jean in a double wedding ceremony with his best friend Al and Jean’s twin sister Jane. He had five children and was a wonderful father, always sharing his wisdom and insights on life. He was an attentive and caring grandfather. He had long and productive employment with R.E. Hebert, Inc. in Rochester and Niagara Insulations in Buffalo. While at R.E. Hebert he held a patent for a free flow underdrain that is still used in water treatment plants today. Throughout his decades long career he was able to travel to several countries including Venezuela, Brazil and Australia where he constructed preheaters for Alcoa and the aluminum plants.

Not being ready to fully retire, he worked as a consultant for Alcoa for more than a decade while they lived in Florida.  Besides his family and work, his passions were motorcycle riding, and his civil war reenactment group, Mosby’s Rangers.  Jim was also an avid hunter and he shared this pastime with his brother and sons. He and Jean made several cross-country motorcycle rides, including a trip to Colorado with Jane and Al which was a highlight in their lives.

He was the most resilient man in the face of adversity who taught us all how to persevere without a complaint and do so with a smile on his face.

Constance “Connie” Iaia passed away peacefully in Palm Coast, Florida on April 13th, 2024, shortly after her 100th birthday. Born in Rochester New York on April 1, 1924, one of 7 children of Giovanna and Vincenzo Geraci, Connie attended Washington High School and Nazareth College. She was married for 57 years to Thomas “Tom” C. Iaia who passed away in 2005. Together, they raised four children: John, Mary Jane, Tom, and Paul. She is survived by all of her children, their spouses, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Connie was active in the League of Women Voters in Rochester and worked for Congresswoman Slaughter’s campaigns. After moving to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1983 she worked as the Assistant Director of Keiser College and was active as President of the American Business Women’s Association there.

Connie was a lifelong, devout Catholic. A voracious reader, she loved painting with her grandchildren, chuckling at the daily funnies, and solving NYT crossword puzzles. Connie was renowned for her cooking skills, especially her extraordinary pasta sauce and meatballs. The angels in heaven have welcomed a truly joyful, kind, and wonderful Mom, Nana and Great-grandmother.

Arkport: At age 78, Doug passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Maple City Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Hornell, NY.  He was born on March 1, 1946, to the late George and Blanche Travis in Hornell, NY. Doug is predeceased by his beloved wife Jan M. Travis. Survived by his children, Larry Douglas Travis, and Kate Travis; his brothers, George Travis, Clarence Travis, and Richard Travis; his grandchildren, Douglas Travis, Tyler Travis, and Sydney Hurlbut; and great-grandchildren, Kaiylee, Rhyder, Mayson, Brae’ Ellyn, Brantley, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Shortly after graduation from Honeoye Central School, Doug went on to the Army where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was with his horses, hunting, fishing, or shooting trap.  Sometimes Doug would even bring the outdoors in with him when he would make wood carvings.  But most of all Doug enjoyed being with his family.  He will be greatly missed.

When Stanley was still driving you would find him in his old, black, Dodge truck with a Pepsi, a pack of Camels, and his dog Brandy. He loved seeing old friends and brothers and reminiscing about the good old times. He enjoyed fishing and going for drives, New York Jets and NASCAR. He was proud of his demolition derby trophies, a hobby he did with his son Stanley Jr. It was never a dull moment when Stanley was around. He left behind many stories (we have all heard so many times), dumb jokes sayings, and memories for us all.

Honeoye:  Carol Ann May, age 87, died peacefully on April 9, 2024, at the Teresa House in Geneseo. She was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada to the late James and Medora Cloney. Survived by her beloved husband, Carl May, of Honeoye. They had been married for almost 66 years. Carol has been a resident of Honeoye for almost 70 years. She is also survived by her three children; Scott (Yanxia) May of Honeoye Falls, Sheila Malloy of Honeoye, and Steven (Sue) May of Bristol. Carol also has two granddaughters, Nichole (Pat) Mulkern and Courtney (Paul) Aylward as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Addison and Mackenzie Mulkern.

Carol was a member of the United Church of Christ in Honeoye for many years. The church and its members played an important role in her life both spiritually and personally with her many friendships. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross, organizing the local blood drives for almost 20 years. Carol enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, cooking, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and visiting with her many friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at 2 PM at the Honeoye United Church of Christ, Main Street Honeoye, NY. Interment will take place privately at Richmond Center Cemetery in Richmond, NY. Honeoye: At age 79, Brent passed away suddenly on Monday, April 8, 2024, at his home in Honeoye. He was born on September 3, 1944, to the late Armand and Alice (Gauthier) Coryer. Brent was predeceased by his brother, Alan Coryer, and sister, Deborah Coryer. Survived by his wife Sandra (Hart) Coryer, daughters, Brenda (Brian) Ward, Tricia (Chad) Carlini, sisters, Sandy (Melvin) Terry, Marilyn Newell, Kim Coryer, Kelly (Barry) Rock. His in-laws Sherry (Dan) White, Sheila Ford, Patricia (Jerry) Raymond, Michelle (Ed) Gareau, Dale (Pam) Hart, Kevin (Vickie) Hart, and Timmy (Judy) Hart, Cindy Hart. His grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie) Ward, Brent (Kelsey) Beeley, Aaron (Ceara) Ward, William Beeley, Caleb Beeley, great-grandchildren, Wesley, Charlotte, Sutton, and Della, as well as many nieces and nephews.

When Brent got out of the Navy in 1966, during a night out with friends, he met the love of his life! He and Sandy enjoyed a whirlwind courtship and married on February 18, 1967. They moved from the Adirondacks to Rochester where Brent worked at Kodak for thirty-one years. During that time, they welcomed two daughters, Brenda and Tricia, and created a beautiful life for their little family.

When his girls were growing up, Brent rarely missed any of their games or band concerts. Despite the long work days, he was a hands-on father and devoted family man. He said “I love you” freely and was a good husband to Sandy for fifty-seven years! They enjoyed spending time with friends and family at their camp in Highmarket, New York, where he was often heard saying, “Good music, good food, good company. What more could you ask for?” In their later years, they devoted much time and effort to the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion and Auxiliary, Post 1278, where he served as commander during 2016 and 2017. They also took pride in helping with St. Mary’s Annual Garage sale every summer.

Brent was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing with his brother Alan, nephew Robbie, friends, and eventually, his grandsons. He also enjoyed coaching their little league teams and serving as a volunteer umpire for Honeoye Junior Baseball. He spent many hours playing ball with his grandsons in the backyard, going through baseball cards with them, and indoctrinating them into becoming Boston Red Sox fans!

Brent’s Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8961 Main St. Honeoye. Livonia: At age 93, Rosemary passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, April 5, 2024, at her home in Livonia. She was born on August 7, 1930, to the late Salvatore and Antoinette LaMonica. Rosemary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Cicero in 1987; and her son-in-law, Dale Kriedemann. Survived by her children, Mary Kriedemann, Frank Cicero (Robert Altavena), Joseph (Cheryl) Cicero, Antoinette Easley, and Monica (Scott) Buchan; and her grandchildren, James (Jeong) Robinson, Andrea (Robert) Rafanelli, Anthony Cicero, Terri (Anand) Bhatt, David (Kate) Easley, Matthew Easley, Nicholas Buchan, Zachary Buchan; along with 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The youngest of five siblings, Rosemary was raised by her parents, Salvatore and Antoinette LaMonica who emigrated from Sicily, before settling in Mt. Morris, NY.  Having been instilled with the value of family, it was no surprise that upon meeting Frank Cicero, the youngest of eleven from Livonia, NY, she felt right at home on Shelly Road, where her legacy began. Rosemary’s infectious laugh and willful spirit brought life to the family homestead.  As a housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she laid the foundation of unbreakable family ties through her acts of unconditional love and service.  No detail was too small and no cookie tray too large, when it came to her loved ones.  Regardless of the miles, she always came to be by her children and grandchildren’s sides.

Rosemary was a proud member of the Livonia Central School Lunch Bunch, where she retired from her career as a lunch lady at the tender age of 75.  Her work ethic, strength, and courage were a consistent thread which encapsulated every part of her life. She was no “weeping willow,” but a matriarchal pillar. In truth, her legacy will one day read like a fairytale, for there will never be another of her likeness.

Geneseo/Lakeville: At age 79, Dorothy passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Noyes Hospital in Dansville, NY. She was born on November 21, 1944, to the late Leonard and Kathryn (Hallings) Struble (Mack). Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frederick Smith in 2005; her step-children, Russell Smith, Robert Smith, and Sue Wysowski; and her sisters, Janet (James) Woods and Nancy (Lou) Leone. Survived by her daughter, Lenora (Steve) Davis; step-daughter, Amy (Brian) Brechue; her son-in-law, David Wysowski; her siblings, Julie (Bill) Snyder, Robert (Lynette) Struble, Sandy (Stan) Driscoll, Sue (Mike) Lawton, Carol (Terry) Jones, Tom Struble, and Debbie (Tim) Shaw; her special cousin, Anne O’Dea Lash and her grandchildren, Michael Wysowski, Michelle (Mauro) Guzman, Moriah (Hezekiah) Beecher, Seth Davis, Noelle (Jacob) Wheatley, and Matthew Brechue; along with his 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
