Joos Hass of Conesus died Saturday, May 29 at home after a short illness. He was born May 20, 1933 in Langnau, Switzerland the son of Andreas and Margarete Baertsch Hassig. Joos was retired from the Sybron/Castle Corp. in Henrietta, New York.

Joos is survived by his wife, Brigette; two sons, Guido Hassig of Lima and Christian Hassig of San Diego, CA, and 2 grandsons.

David J. Wittman of Canandaigua VA formerly of Rochester, died May 28, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Rochester, NY on January 7, 1940 the son of Norbert W. and Helen Paine Wittman. David graduated from Aquinas Institute in 1957 before serving in the US Air Force. He had been previously employed by Loblaws in Rochester. David is predeceased by his parents, sister, Sharon Wittman, and brother in law, Gerald Brasley.

He is survived by step mother Rosabell Preston of Lakeville; sisters Gail Brasley of Rochester, Susan Wittman Bauman,(Ken Rossi) of Lakeville, and nephews, Michael and Patrick Brasley.

Joe was born February 13, 1944 in Rochester, NY to parents Frederick and Helen Wiesner. He served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967. Joe resided in Lakeville, NY for many years and was a long time member of the Conesus Lake Sportsman’s Club.

Michael F. “Big Mike” Uschold 71 years of Routes 5 & 20, West Bloomfield, NY died Monday, May 17, 2010 at his home. Mike had retired from the Monroe County Parks Department, and was a member of the Scottsville Masonic Lodge.

Daniel J. Clark, 25 years of Canadice, formerly of Conesus, NY died suddenly Monday evening, May 10, 2010 following a motorvehicle vs. motorcycle accident in the Town of Lima. Dan was born May 18, 1984 in Dansville, NY the son of David E. Clark and Kathy J. Manzer. He was employed by VanBortel Subaru in Victor. Dan was always interested in all sorts of cars, including stock cars and race cars. He loved to ride his motorcycle and enjoyed bike racing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Dan is survived by his 3 year old daughter Macenzie Clark of Hornell; his mother, Kathy Clark of Lakeville; father, David Clark of Horseheads. Two Step-sisters, Erika Mazzerella of Conesus, Tiffany (Dan) Waters of Conesus, and one step-brother, Sam Mazzerella of Perry. Several aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews and cousins.

Honeoye: Cherie J. Caster-Burnett was 42 years old when she lost her courageous battle with cancer. She fought it hard right to the end, never losing her sweet disposition. She passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 4:30 AM, in her own home in Hemlock, NY surrounded by her loving family. Cherie was born on November 5, 1967 in Oswego, NY to Leslie and Jean Caster.

Cherie was a loving wife and devoted mother of 3 beautiful children. She was a stay at home Mom, who spent all of her time taking care of her family. Always ready to sacrifice her own needs to ensure that her children always had what they needed. Not only was she a great mother to her own children, she was also a Mom to anyone who needed one and was addressed as Mom by many.

Cherie loved animals especially horses. She also loved Disney World, camping and the Sterling Renaissance Festival. In combining her love of family and hobbies, she brought many wonderful memories to her family.

Cherie is survived by her husband of 16 years, Christopher J. Burnett who she was with for 23 years; children, Zachary Burnett of Victor and future daughter-in-law Amanda Rampe, Logan and Rhiannon Burnett both of Honeoye. Mother, Jean DeMarc of Fairport. sisters, Sandra (William) Landers of Baldwinsville, and Wendy Hudson of Waterloo. brother, Leslie (Pam) Caster of Arizona; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Catherine Burnett of Waterloo. Clayton H. Hermann, 92 years, of DaCola Shores, Conesus, NY died, Tuesday May 4, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Schnectady, NY the son of Bernard and Lillian Volberg Hermann. A member of the US Army Air Force, he was at Pearl Harbor when attacked in World War 2. A longtime Eastman Kodak employee, he retired about 30 years ago. He was predeceased by his loving grandchild, Sean Brisbane, in 2009.

Survived by his wife Betty; 3 daughters, Christy (William) Tayler of Woodbridge, VA., Jacqueline (Neil Williams) Judy, of Scottsville, Nancy (Michael) Brisbane of Spencerport. 5 grandchildren, Sara Resau, & Chad Judy, Jill Tayler, Keith and Stacy Brisbane. 3 great grandchildren, Brian & Ethan Resau, and Yolanda Judy.
