Canandaigua: At age 62, Scott passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. He was born in Waterloo, NY to the late Robert and Henrietta Westcott. Survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Victoria L. (Spencer) Westcott; his son, Scott Westcott II, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Elizabeth Spencer; and his siblings, Robert Westcott, Kathy Siedel, Stephen Westcott, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Richard W. Finn “Rick” – September 26, 2022

Hemlock/Livonia:  Richard W. Finn, “Rick”, passed peacefully at home on September 26, 2022.  Forever forty-two years old, he was born on March 13 in Wellsville, New York, to the late William and Betty (Underwood) Finn.  Survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Susan (Birchenough) Finn and children; Sean (Jodi) Finn of Honeoye Falls, Patrick (Paula) Finn of Windsor, Michael Finn of Andover, Michele Costik Pettis of Nashville, Chantal Costik Travaglini of Livonia, Fr. Michael Costik of Canandaigua, and John (Laura) Costik of Livonia; grandchildren, Abbey, Mollie, Conor, Brian, Mick, Anna, Patrick, Liam, Sean Patrick, and Mary Colleen Finn, Owen Pettis, Rayvon Pettis, Grace Pettis, George Pettis, Gabriella and Gianni Travaglini, and Sarah and Evan Costik; siblings, Maureen Rohde, Marilyn Seeley, and Thomas (Jane) Finn.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

He met the love of his life, Sue, while singing in the church choir at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Livonia, New York.  Rick and Sue, each holding steadfast their own identity, were never separate in their shared values, their mutual concern for one another, and their world-view.

A man of great faith demonstrated through good works, Rick quietly and faithfully shared his time, talents, and treasure with many charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The American Legion, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, local area Food Banks, and The Wounded Warrior Project.  A friend or neighbor telling Rick that they had a job to do instantly put that task on Rick’s To-Do list.

A true family man; Rick was always at a grandchild’s ball game or school function quietly encouraging and supporting every facet of their life.  Blessed with the gift of gab, Rick loved to share a story and tell a joke.  Like every Irishman, Rick enjoyed the company of others and sharing a story, joke, or song.  Traveling to the Old Sod three times during his lifetime was looked upon fondly.  Rick appreciated the abundance of God’s blessings and especially reveled in the outdoors and was an avid hunter, golfer, and walker.

Timothy Arnold Anderson ~ September 26, 2022

Toole, Utah:  Tim passed away peacefully September 26, 2022, surrounded by his family at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Tim is pre-deceased by both paternal and maternal grandparents, L. Vernon Hitchcock & Mildred Abraham, Andrew (Gloria) Anderson & Dorothy Traxler(Dwayne) Ayers, parents Elliott Anderson and Mary Lou Jensen, brother Thomas Elliott Anderson, aunts and uncles Robert (Helen Bonnie) Anderson, Carol (Steve)Bennett, and cousins Judy, Janet and Jane Anderson.  Surviving Tim are his daughter Brandy (Lance Nielson) Anderson, Fiancée Julie Spears, her quote “Tim, when I fell in love with you, I could never have imagined all the twists and turns our life would take, I will miss your smile and your beautiful eyes. Most of all, I will miss your love. -Julie”. Stepfather George (Marjorie Ladd) Jensen, sisters Tracy (Chris Kelly) Ingraham, Kelly (Scott) Marshall, stepsister Jessica (Paul Stewart) Jensen and their respective families.

Born as the second son on April 13, 1961, to Elliott Arnold and Mary Lou (Hitchcock) Anderson. He was raised, and educated in Dansville, New York. After graduation, enlistment into the Air Force transported him to Hill AF Base in Utah to work on ejection systems for fighter jets. He married Lisa Ulibarri and became father to his beautiful baby girl Brandy Rose.

After an Honorable discharge from the service Tim drove for several trucking companies and was an accomplished diesel mechanic. Tim lived most of his adult life in Utah, returning to Dansville for several years to be with his mother prior to her passing. After returning to Utah, he continued to drive truck, help his dear friends and neighbors when he could, and bartend at his local American Legion. He met his fiancée Julie Speirs with plans for a wedding once he finished treatments for stage 1 pancreatic cancer.

He was an avid collector of arrowheads and Native American art, loved motorcycles, music, Elvis (he cried the day he died), and tinkering. He was an active member of The Moose Lodge , The Elks, and the American Legion and an avid donator of charities. He loved to fish with Julie and his friends and take drives through the canyons to watch the wildlife and sunsets.

A true celebration of life will be held at the Sparta Center Volunteer Fire Company 8479 Reeds Corners Road Dansville, this Saturday, October 22 from 3-7 pm. Richard “Dick” M. Forbes ~ September 22, 2022

Conesus/Mt. Morris: At age 81, Dick passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at his home in Conesus. He was born in Leicester, NY to the late John and Janette (Carr) Forbes. Dick is predeceased by his siblings; John Forbes, Margaret Claud, Pauline Schmidt, Paul Forbes, Jeanette Milliman, Edward Forbes; his granddaughter, Tanya Lynn Hollenbeck-Forbes.  Survived by the love of his life and devoted soulmate for over 50 years; Hazel K. Delaney; his children, Rick (Cathy) Forbes, Rhonda (Steve) Forbes-Allen, Hunter (April) Forbes; Tracy (Bill) Henry, Darcy (David) Long; his sisters, Helen Follett, Elizabeth Denby, Carol Huffman, Nina Howe and his several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; along with Sally Forbes.

In addition to the love for his family, Dick’s passion was tending to his farm.  He also was the General Manager for Covered Wagon Train in Hornell, NY, where he retired.

Leonard “Len” M. Gessin Sr ~ September 19, 2022

Honeoye Lake: At age 89, Len passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. He was born in Rochester, NY to the late Robert and Pearl (Rosenberg) Gessin. Len is predeceased by his first wife, Onnalee Gessin; his second wife, Marian Mortenson-Gessin; and his companion; Barbara Bott. Survived by his children, Leonard Gessin Jr. (Lisa Beadle), Scott (Karen) Gessin, Terry Green (Dick Milton) and Jeffrey (Dorene) Green; his brother; Bernard Gessin; and his grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Frechette, Jeffrey Green (Janessa Davis), Nicole Mason (Chris Mack), Michael Green (Natalie Pope), Michael Gessin (MarKayla Nash) and Megan Gessin, along with a very large beloved extended family.

After graduating from High School, Len decided that he would like to serve his country in the Unites States Army during the Korean War. After Len’s discharge from the military, he began his career with the Monroe County Department of Public Safety, where he became an Assistant Superintendent. Len had a passion in wireless communications. He was a lifelong amateur radio operator (WA2ZNC).  He worked for the Antique Wireless Museum in Bloomfield NY, where he continued to work up until he passed.

Len was a member of multiple organizations, including: Antique Wireless Association, Rochester Amateur Radio Association, Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion, Eagle Lodge 619 and the Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance.

Virginia E. Moore “Ginny” – September 19, 2022

Geneseo/Honeoye Falls:  Virginia passed peacefully on September 19, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY on her 99 th birthday.  She was born on September 19, 1923 in Henrietta, NY to the late Conrad and Stella (Schout) Meyers.  In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Carl Moore, son Ralph Moore, grandson David Tuchrello, and siblings, Evelyn Wilcox, Elizabeth Shellman, Helen Shadders, Conrad Meyers Jr., Eleanor Hoh, and Donald Meyers.  Survived by her daughters, Jacqueline (Bob) Quinn of Livonia and Linda (Tom) Tuchrello of Avon; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; siblings, James (Ruth) Meyers and Jack Meyers; and daughter-in-law Sheila Moore.  Also survived by many other loving family and friends.

For over twenty years in the later part of Ginny’s life she lived in Florida.  She loved the sunshine there and to take bike rides.  She also loved cooking, gardening, and reading.  One of Ginny’s many attributes was making sure that all clothing and accessories were always color coordinated.  Red was one of her favorite colors, she always enjoyed red carnations and to watch for bright red cardinals around her home.

Gail L. Potter – September 18, 2022

Lakeville, NY:  Gail passed on September 18, 2022 at age 73.  She was born on February 24, 1949 in Rochester, NY to the late Robert and Pearl (Davis) Potter.  In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Ronald Potter, Shirley (Dick) Korhumel, and Grace (Bob) Beam.  Survived by her daughter Brenda (Kenton) Anstey of Livonia and son Bob Barber of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Adam Caskey, Ashley (Tom) Puskarz, and Paige Anstey (fiancée Christian Hill); great-grandchildren, Abigail and Emily Puskarz; brother Dean (Pat) Potter; sister Sharon (Tom) Farrell; and sister-in-law Barbara Potter West.  Also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Gail lived and worked in this area all her life.  She loved taking drives around the area, then going out to eat at a local restaurant to end the day.  She loved animals, worked at Seneca Foods in Mt. Morris, then at Kraft Foods in Avon.  Gail loved playing games on her computer calling it her “homework.”  She loved her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.

Glenn A. Hodgeman ~ September 16, 2022

Hemlock: At age 71, Glenn passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Hildebrandt Care Center in Rochester, NY. He was born in Rochester, NY to the late John and May Hodgeman. Glenn is predeceased by his brother; Bruce E. Hodgeman. Survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Michelle A. (Day) Hodgeman; his children, Deanne (Todd) Kolodziejski, Shawn (Laura) Hodgeman, his siblings; Sheila (James) Mitchell, Sylvia (Dan) Smith, Kenny (Karen) Hodgeman; and his grandchildren, Zachary Kolodziejski, Lindsay Kolodziejski, Dylan Hodgeman, Hayden Hodgeman, and Addison Hodgeman; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Glenn was an avid motorcyclist and loved to golf, make furniture, and camp. He spent many evenings and weekends throughout the last 20 years following his grandchildren who played in multiple sporting events. He always emphasized how important family was and that supporting each other with respect and love was the most important part of being a family.

Kenneth “Ken” C. Alexander ~ September 12, 2022

Nunda:  At age 52, Ken passed away with his family by his side on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.  He was born in Rochester, NY to Keith and Barbara Alexander.  Ken is predeceased by his father; Keith C. Alexander.  Survived by the love of his life; Kelly A. Everyone who knew Kenny knew that he was a one-of-a-kind guy. He told it like it was, and didn’t care if it was offensive, but he was also there for anyone who needed him. He loved his family and his friends, and made sure you knew it. Ken served his country proudly, and continued that patriotism throughout his life. Everyone knew that Richard Petty was one of his idols, and if he wasn’t sitting on the couch watching nascar, he was out in the woods hunting, or in the garage messing around with his three-wheeler collection.

Christine A. Walker “Chris” – September 12, 2022

Conesus: At age 76, Christine passed away suddenly on Monday, September 12, 2022 at her home in Conesus, NY. She was born in Rochester, NY to the late Gerard and Jane Dittman. Christine is predeceased by her husband Raymond H. Walker, her sister Elaine Dittman and brother Jerry Dittman. Survived by her children; Tim (Milissa) Walker, Kristin (Adam) Jones, her grandchildren; Nikolas, Jamie, Sebastian, Justin and Sophie, her sisters; Linda (Arden) Barie, Elizabeth (Jose) Curet, Jane (Robert) Rohr, Deborah (Andrew) Bayley, and Mary Grace (Doug) Kramer, Brother-in-law Charles (June) Walker, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris attended SUNY Potsdam for a teaching degree and there she met, Ray, her loving husband of 29 years before his passing. Chris spent 26 years teaching both fourth grade and kindergarten at Livonia Primary.

A dedicated and tireless volunteer, Chris’ service to her parish, the Conesus United Church and neighborhood community is unmatched. As a member of many committees and organizations, she is best known for planning many dinners, events, and fundraisers. Chris’ community involvement did not go unnoticed as in 2012 she was honored as Senior Citizen of the Year for the Town of Conesus.

Chris was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She did her best to attend the many sporting events and concerts of her grandchildren often traveling many miles to be in the stands. Among her greatest joys were family vacations, especially those spent with the Walker family each summer, with the tradition lasting for 50 years. Chris will be remembered as family-centered and as always available to support her large group of friends whether it was to recommend a book, provide a ride, deliver a meal or offer a compassionate word.

As per the family request, calling hours will be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.  However, Christine’s funeral service will still take place at 11AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Conesus United Church, 6199 S. Livonia Road, Conesus, NY 14435. A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Heiko J. Lesterhuis – September 9, 2022

Springwater:  Heiko passed peacefully at his home on September 9, 2022 at age 71 years.  He was born on October 29, 1950 in Rochester, NY to the late Heiko and Klasina Lesterhuis.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Jan Lesterhuis.  Survived by his wife of 20 years, Deborah (Stidfole) Lesterhuis; children, Marc (Jennifer) Lesterhuis, Heidi (Jason) Lesterhuis, Tina (Chris) Webb, Rick (Vicki) Frisbee, Mark (Becky) Frisbee, Howard (Stephanie) Johnston, and Miranda (Munchkin) Johnston; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, nephew Austin (Heather) Lesterhuis, brothers and sister in-laws Tammy (Augie) Sidore, James Stidfole, his dog Lucky and many many dear friends

He belonged to the Local 2312 for 40yrs as a machinist, He was a hardworking tough as nails farm boy who loved his family and would have given the shirt off is back for anyone in need.  He had a huge heart and a gentle soul, he truly was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by many.

Elizabeth P. Kiefer “Bette” – September 9, 2022

Avon, NY:  September 9, 2022 at age 94.  Predeceased by her husband John R. Kiefer Sr., parents Harold and Leafie Conway, sister Marilyn Quinn and two brothers, Edward and S. Lawrence Conway, son John R. Kiefer Jr. and granddaughter Molly Crye.  Survived by her children; Suzann Wadsworth of Brighton, Kenneth (Lillian) Kiefer of HI, Charles Kiefer (Barbara Howell) of Avon, Lawrence (Christina) Kiefer of Avon, Elizabeth (Eric) Barklund of Pittsford, and Luke (Debra) Kiefer of Irondequoit; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

John W. Driscoll Jr. “Bill” – September 8, 2022

Avon, NY:  At age 84, Bill passed at his home on September 8, 2022.  He was born on October 9, 1937 in Rochester, NY to the late John Sr. “Jack” and Mary (McCallister) Driscoll.  Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie (Dare) Driscoll and children:  Debbie Driscoll of Rochester, Terry (Jason) Bowers of TN, Sheila (Jorge) Gomez of NY, and Billy Driscoll of Avon; grandchildren, Sean, Chris, and Samantha Bowers & Dylan, Leila, and Daniel Gomez.

Bill had several passions in his early years, including being an avid boxer winning many awards.  In his later years, he especially enjoyed sparring with his grandsons.  Bill was a long-time trapper & hunter and owned a successful fur business.  He was also the President of AB Equipment Corp., a family owned vending business.  Bill further loved his many dogs that he hunted, raced, and showed.  His trophies and awards are too numerous to include.  Additionally, Bill was a proud veteran having served in the U.S Air Force and the National Guard.  Bill’s greatest accomplishments, however, are his six grandchildren, whom he loved very much.

Warren A. Marsland ~ September 4, 2022

Lakeville:  Sunday, September 4, 2022, at age 86. Warren passed peacefully at home in Lakeville, NY, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief recurrence of cancer that had been in remission for 7 years.  He was born in Rochester, NY to the late Lathrop and Dorothy Marsland.   Survived by his children, Richard Marsland (Valerie Dimino) and Allison (Maria Rello) Marsland; his grandchildren, Denison Marsland-Rello (Miriam De La Riva Ovalle), Paige Marsland (Matthew Howard), Connor Marsland, Zachary Marsland-Rello and Marce Marsland-Rello; his siblings, Jonatha Nilsson and KD Basketfield-McGovern.  Warren is predeceased by his beloved dachshund, Wally.

He was a 1954 graduate of the Allendale School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University, then returned to Allendale in 1958, where he worked until retiring in 1997. He gave generously of his time and attention to students, faculty, and staff, as well as to his family, friends, and neighbors. He was a longtime member and past chief of the Lakeville Fire Department and was a proud lawn mower, gardener, and bridge player.

Gilbert “Gib” D. Gribble ~ September 1, 2022

Avon: At age 84, Gib passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at his home in Avon. He was born in Coolsprings, PA to the late Gilbert and Gertrude Gribble. Gib is predeceased by his sisters; Darlene Gribble and Leah Rae Vail and brothers; Joseph Gribble and George Gribble. Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Julia A. Gribble, his children; Kelley Davis, Karen (Tim) Kime , Jeff (Jillian) Gribble and Greg (Amber) Gribble, his grandchildren; Stacee (Richard) Muolo, Ronald (Jessica) Warner, Haylee (Brandon) Reynolds, Dylon Gribble, Megan Kime, Michael (Erica) Wells, McKenna Wells, his 7 great grandchildren, his sisters; Edna (Fritz) Murfello, Vicki Hartsek, his brother; Thomas (Iris) Gribble, his sisters-in-law; Linda Gribble, Judy Barstow, his brother-in-law; George Sherbondy, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Gib worked at Kuhnle Bros. Trucking for 55 years.  He started his career as a carrier in Ohio, then moved to New York to manage the Lakeville location.

Gib enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, trapshooting, fishing, golfing and drag racing.  He was a Lifetime Member of the Conesus Lake Sportsmans Club.

A memorial service will take place at 5PM on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Kevin W.
