Ruth S. (Bown) Sachs -April 5, 2024

Livonia: Our mother passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the age of 103. She was born on January 27, 1921, in Egypt, NY to the late Bruner and Margaret (Case) Bown. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold E. Sachs; siblings, George Bown, Margaret Pickering, Jean Webb, and daughter-in-law Katha Schmidt Sachs. Survived by her Sons, Paul (Dana) Sachs of Corinth, Texas. Lee (Penny) Sachs of Thousand Oaks, CA. James (Susan) Sachs of Chili, NY. Along with her, 8 Grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from RIT, our mother worked in food service. She retired from Gates Chili Central School in the early 80’s. She started in the bake shop, became a manager of a school cafeteria, and eventually managed the school lunch program for the district. After retiring, she volunteered at Strong Memorial Hospital for many years holding and rocking sick babies which she loved doing. She was also a very active member of her church and Eastern Star for many years.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 21 Big Tree Street in Livonia. A Memorial Service will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Lakeville United Church of Christ followed by a luncheon. The Interment will take place privately at South Perinton Cemetery on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital, 300 East River Road, P.O. Richard “Rick” H. Young – April 2, 2024

Avon: Rick passed away peacefully at home with family on April 2, 2024, and joined his wife Linda on their next heavenly journey. Rick was born May 31, 1953, to his loving parents the late Herbert and Lillian Young. Rick is survived by his sister Linda (Jon) Rylander, brothers Lynn Young and Gary (Colleen) Young, brother-in-law Roby Robeson, and many nieces and nephews. Besides being a great son, he was a loving nephew to his late Aunt Sally and the best big brother to his siblings.

Rick was a record-setting athlete at Rush Henrietta where he attended school. After graduation, he worked for decades at Rochester Products-GM. Rick loved to hunt and enjoyed the solitude of the woods, he looked forward to his many hunting and fishing trips with his buddies. They were always moving on to their next adventure whether in a sports car, on a motorcycle, four-wheeler, or boat. Rick and Linda were blessed with amazing friends and neighbors Randy and Pat Remming. They all went on so many adventures together over the years and supported each other through thick and thin all of their days.

In keeping with Rick’s wishes, no formal funeral services will take place at this time.
