Meretta L. Connors – June 19, 2018

Honeoye: June 19, 2018, at age 60 years. Survived by her husband David, and daughter; Misty (Dennis) Sanders-Kuhn. Grandchildren Logan and Emma. Sisters; Stella (John) Romero, of Deltona, Florida, Malinda (Jerry) Bevins, of Belcher, Kentucky, Juanita (Bob) Deskins of Pikeville, Kentucky. Brothers; Julius (Argina) Layne of Ormond Beach, Florida and Kelsey Layne of Deltona, Florida. Brothers-in-law; Michael (Juanne) Connors of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Mark Connors of Honeoye. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Meretta Connors was born in Pikeville, Pike County, Kentucky on May 3, 1958 to the late Perry Layne and Melda Smith Layne of Kimper, Kentucky. She graduated from Pikeville High School in 1976. She met and married the love of her life David Connors, David was a doting husband and loving father to Misty.

Meretta and Misty moved to Honeoye, New York. Though it was a huge change from Kentucky to New York, and she missed her family greatly; she found comfort in being a stay at home Mom. Misty was born to Meretta and she told her little daughter she was a gift from God as a result of her many prayers. Misty even had the brown hair and blue eyes prayed for. This baby girl grew into the wonderful, loving, compassionate young woman she is today from the example set by her Mom. Misty gave Meretta two beautiful grand babies, Logan and Emma whom she loved dearly. They are the love of her life. Granny Meretta, first called this by her grand baby boy Logan became known as Granny to many in the community.

Meretta truly loved all the students in Honeoye Central. She was involved in many activities in the school, including fundraising, plays, chaperoning dances, buying lunches for many or just an ice cream. She held a variety of jobs both in Kentucky and New York. The job Meretta enjoyed most was caring for children she babysat. She was also employed by Pikeville Methodist Hospital and retired from Honeoye Central School in 2013.

Meretta allowed the Love of God to shine through her to everyone she met and she will be forever missed.

Services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 8624 Main Street, Rt 20A Honeoye, New York, 14471. Immediately following the funeral services there will be a celebration of Meretta’s life at Little Lakes Community Center (old Hemlock School) 4705 South Main Street, Hemlock, New York, 14466.

Livonia: Unexpectedly on June 18, 2018 at age 59. Predeceased by her father Raymond VanDeusen, sister Melissa Revilla, father-in-law Edward Gillis, and brother-in-law Keith DeRoller. Margaret A. Nereau (Brunner) “Marge”

Geneseo/Scottsville: Marge passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on June 17, 2018 at age 79. Predeceased by her parents Lawrence Sr. and Ruth (Anderson) Brunner, sister Ruth (George) Backus, brother Lawrence Brunner Jr., brother-in-law Charles Goldstin, and son-in-law Gordon Howe. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard C. Nereau and daughters; Cynthia Howe of Geneseo, Karen Nereau (Matt W.) of CT, and Cheryl (Tim) Sanford of Dalton; grandchildren, Christina Flamand, Theresa Krenzer, Tucker Sanford, Patricia (Brian) Mallaber, and Melinda (Paul) Tellier; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Florence Goldstin, Robert (Mary Lou) Brunner, John (Linda) Brunner Sr., and sister-in-law Jeanne Brunner; and many nieces & nephews.

Marge was born on April 21, 1939 in Scottsville, NY. She attended Wheatland-Chili Central School District and later worked as a key punch operator at Gleason Works where she met her future husband Richard. They married on May 24, 1958 and spent the last 60 years together. Marge was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed golf, bowling, and travel. Marge supported her husband in relocating to several states until they settled in Massachusetts where he became self employed. Upon returning to New York Marge was secretary of the Scottsville Rotary Club and with her husband established a tutoring and literacy project at the State School of Industry, Rush, NY. She was also a member of the Rush United Methodist Church for many years and participated in several mission ministries.

Kristine Smith “Kris” – June 16, 2018

Livonia/Henrietta: Kris passed peacefully, with family by her side, on June 16, 2018 at age 71. Predeceased by her parents Walter & Mary Lou Quetchenbach and her sister Kim. Survived by her loving husband Gary E. Smith and sons; Rich (Jennifer) Smith of MS and Dave (Jennifer) Smith of Livonia; grandchildren, Carrie, Olivia, and Alex Smith; brother Eric (Wendy) Quetchenbach and sister Susan. Also survived by nieces & nephews and several dear friends. “She was the most loving and forgiving wife that a man could ever hope to have.”

Kris was born on January 24, 1947 in Rochester, New York. She went to school at St. Agnes and graduated cum laude. Later she attended SUNY Brockport and graduated in 1969. She married Gary in 1968 and lived in Spencerport for five years before moving to Henrietta to start a family. She taught at various catholic grammar schools and held several jobs in retail, tax preparation with H & R Block, and the home health care industry. In 2011 she moved out to Livonia to live close to her local son and his family. She enjoyed pleasant afternoons on her deck watching the deer scamper through the yard and her grandchildren play across the street. Kris was dearly loved and will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her warm smile, big heart, and the way she brightened her family and friends’ lives will be greatly missed.

William A. Smith “Bill” – June 11, 2018

Avon/Caledonia: Bill passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on June 11, 2018 at age 74. Predeceased by his parents William and Margaret (Gates) Smith, his sisters; Joan (Donald) Grossman and Kathleen (Dean) Bertch, and nephew Douglas Grossman. After graduating from Gettysburg College (BA History) and SUNY Geneseo (Masters in Education), Bill enlisted in the US Navy, serving four years during the Vietnam War and receiving an honorable discharge. He married Frances E. Zornow on July 12, 1969. Bill taught for 32 years at Mount Morris Central School, where he retired from. He enjoyed gardening, travel (spending trips with Fran rambling around Ireland and the British Isles), and vacationing with his family. Bill was also an avid reader and bird watcher, always putting out multiple feeders which brought the yard to life. He greatly treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren as the family grew.

Achter on October 11, 1941 and they were married for over 60 years. They resided in Webster, NY for many years and in retirement they moved to Old Forge where they enjoyed snowmobiling and boating for over 20 years. Alice moved back to the area in 2016 and resided in Honeoye spending time with family. Alice loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Interment will be held privately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 8, 2018 which would have been Alice’s 100th birthday. Rowland E. Smith “Ronnie” – June 2, 2018

Ocala, FL/Livonia, NY: It is with great sadness that the family of Rowland E. Smith (Ronnie) announces his passing on June 2, 2018 at the age of 98.

Ronnie was predeceased by Doris Brennan Smith and is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Phyllis Fischer Smith. He is survived by his children Jo VanDyck and Jane Smith. Ronnie will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Jeffrey and Emileigh, Mark and Suzanne and Lisa Chod and his great-grandchildren, Maris, Berkley, Rhett, Collins, and Nolan.

Ronnie actively participated in life. He loved and served his community and country. He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army from 1940-1945. He was an owner of the Livonia Dairy, a Rotarian, a member of the Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Geneseo Country Club.

Ronnie will be buried with military honors on July 14, 2018 at 3 pm in the Union Cemetery in Livonia, NY. We will celebrate his life at the Livingston County Country Club after the graveside service. Terry G. Peck Jr. “TJ” – May 31, 2018

Livonia: Passed peacefully on May 31, 2018, at age 31, surrounded by family and friends. Survived by his mother Kathy Perovich of Macedon and his father Terry G. TJ was born on June 11, 1986 in Dansville, NY to parents Kathleen Perovich and Terry G. Peck Sr. He graduated from Livonia High School in 2004 and later attended Mohawk Valley Community College where he earned a welding degree. TJ was an EMT for many years with Livonia Ambulance and always considered Livonia his home. TJ’s love of life will continue even after his passing as he was an organ donor. His passion was always helping others before himself.

Robert S. Barrett “Bob” – May 30, 2018

Lakeville, NY: Passed peacefully on May 30, 2018 at age 92. Predeceased by his parents George and Isabel (Shannon) Barrett and his brothers William, Eugene, and Frederick Barrett. Survived by his children; Randall Barrett of Conesus, Suzanne (Patrick) Beattie of Rush, and Kevin (Michelle) Barrett of Lakeville; grandchildren, Mary, Kate, Ryan, Meghan, Malaina, Andrew and Kimmy; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Taryn, Elsie and Clayton. Also survived by brothers; John (Jane), Arthur, Donald (Gayle) and Norman Barrett, former wife Jeanne Barrett, many nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.

His parents were George and Isabel Barrett. He was born in York, NY, the second of eight boys and he graduated from Caledonia High School. He entered the Merchant Marines in 1945 and served in the Coast Guard from 1950 – 1953. He married Jeanne Fischer in 1951 and moved to Henrietta, then went to work at Rochester Gas and Electric and also worked part time for Mohawk/Allegheny/Airborne Air Freight. He loved to sing and was active in the Henrietta Players theater group. He moved to Conesus Lake in 1979. After retirement he moved to Apoka, FL but spent summers in Lakeville, NY. He loved to travel and to spend time with his family. One of his favorite summer past times was visiting Vitale Park.

Geneseo: May 26, 2018 at age 86. Many in the community would remember his 35 year career as a Livonia school teacher or his military service as a Colonel in the Army.  He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Margaret Patanella and several brothers and sisters. Jean Betty Whitford (Honan) – May 23, 2018

Lakeville: Jean passed peacefully surrounded by her family on May 23, 2018 at age 94. Predeceased by her husband Ted Whitford, daughter Linda Kurtz, son Mark Whitford, grandsons Chris VanBuskirk & David Burns, sister Jane Honan, and brother Robert Honan. Survived by children; Ted (Claudia) Whitford, Donna (Jack) Tangen, Anne (Bill) Devine, Mary Beth (Rick) McKeown, Pam (Peter) McCabe, Jane (Dave) Konarski, Tim (Cindy) Whitford and Kevin (Lori) Whitford; daughter-in-law Debbie Whitford, son-in-law David Kurtz; brother Harold (Gail) Honan, 36 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Jean was born on November 20, 1923 in Rochester, NY to parents Thomas & Helen (Klink) Honan. She married Theodore W. Whitford on March 10, 1944 and they celebrated over 48 years together before he passed in 1992. They started their family in Syracuse later moving to Rochester then settling in Lakeville in 1968 where they raised their 10 children. Her family was everything and to them she was their “Queen.”

Henrietta/Bergen: Sandra passed peacefully on May 22, 2018 at age 81. Predeceased by her husband Walter B. Ward. Sandra was born on August 28, 1936 in Rochester, NY to parents Leon & Agnes (Wade) Aumock. She married the love of her life Walter B. Ward and they were together for over 50 years before he passed in 2006. They loved traveling, sightseeing, and spending winters in Florida.

Elizabeth Ann (Dunigan) Amidon “Betty” – May 20, 2018

Rochester/Ocala, FL: Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Dunigan) Amidon, 88, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018.

The youngest of four children of Alice (Seccombe) and Francis Dunigan, Betty spent much of her life in Rochester, NY. She married the love of her life, Frank James Amidon, in 1955 upon his return from his service in Korea. Suddenly widowed only seven years later, she dedicated herself to raising her three small children.

Betty moved to Ocala, Florida and spent 30 years enjoying cruises and lunches with her friends. Her sense of humor and love of life is remembered and cherished by friends and family.

Betty is predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank, sister Mary Murray and brother James Dunigan. She is survived by her son Daniel of Wilmington, NC, daughter Helen (Bill Murtha) McDermott of Livonia and daughter Carol (Ed Sharkey) Amidon of Rochester; grandchildren, Molly (Jim) Wanzenried, Kevin (Kristina) McDermott, Kelly (Rob) Turner; step grandchildren, Colin (Lisa) Murtha, Ryan Murtha, Christopher (Kat) Murtha and Caitlin Murtha. She took great joy in her great-granddaughters Alice, Ella, Olivia and Isabell Wanzenried. She is also survived by her sister, Alice (Dunigan) Bernhard and many nieces and nephews.

Louis E. Faulkner “Lou” – May 17, 2018

Livonia: On May 17, 2018, at age 76, Lou went to heaven to be with all the family & friends that went before him. He is predeceased by his parents Gilbert & Esther Faulkner and his brother Kenneth. Survived by children; Danny (Ann) Faulkner, Brenda Faulkner and Randy Faulkner; grandchildren, Tanya Faulkner, Aleah Faulkner, Jamie (Jason) Hill and Stephen (Katie) Waide; great-grandchildren, Kain and Billy Ray. Also survived by brother Dennis Faulkner, his biological family including parents Louis Elton & Ellen (Baker) Nickerson and siblings, Onilee, Peggy, Gloria, Mona, and Wayne, several nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.

Louis was born on March 11, 1942 in Pennsylvania where he spent most of his childhood. He served our country in the military, had a passion for music, and loved to play the guitar. Lou enjoyed life, spending time with family, and always started his day with a good cup of coffee and some cookies.

Jean C. Rogers – May 17, 2018

Livonia: Peacefully on May 17, 2018, at age 86, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Carl L. Rogers and her infant grandson Shawn Barber. Survived by children; Dave Rogers (Patti Schmidt), Marilyn Barber, Sue (Paul) Dailey, and Steve (Cookie) Rogers; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; special friend and caregiver Pat Willis, 2 nephews, and many close friends.

Jean was born on January 10, 1932 in Elmira, NY to parents Leon “Jack” and Beatrice “Bea” Caywood. In 1950 she married the love of her life Carl. They moved to Rochester, NY and raised their family. Jean enjoyed golfing, bowling, happy hour, and time at Conesus Lake. Most of all Jean enjoyed her family and spending time with her many grandchildren.

Casey D. Moran – May 12, 2018

Livonia: Passed into the presence of the Lord on May 12, 2018 at age 32. Survived by his mother Karen Moran and his father Brian (Wendy) Moran; siblings, Brendan and Shane (Melissa) Moran, Kaitlin (Corey) Balcerzak, Troy Rossborough, Derek (Sarah) Spink and Amy (Mark) Chase; grandmother Margaret “Peg” Moran; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Casey was born on May 2, 1986 in Rochester, NY the second son to parents Karen and Brian Moran. He graduated from LeRoy Central School in 2004. Casey ran track and played football while in high school. He would go into school early to help teachers and even help in the cafeteria. Casey loved to be outdoors, camping, and always enjoyed a good campfire. He loved to take the four-wheeler on rides and loved all types of animals. He lived in San Diego, California for many years and helped take care of his aunt, whom he loved dearly. Casey had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

Ann M. Marusiak (Pribanich) – May 11, 2018

Conesus/Lima: Peacefully at her home in Conesus, NY on May 11, 2018 at age 43. Predeceased by her father Michael “Mickey” Pribanich and her mother-in-law Jean Marusiak. Survived by her husband Daniel Marusiak Jr. and their children, Michael and Jessica; mother, Dorothy “Dottie” Pribanich and brother Jim Pribanich (Lisa Helmick) all of Lima; father-in-law Daniel Marusiak Sr. of Redfield and brother-in-law David (Sarah) Marusiak of CO; several nieces and nephews, many other loving family members and dear friends.

Ann was born on March 29, 1975 in Rochester, NY the daughter of Michael & Dorothy (Hill) Pribanich. She attended Honeoye Falls-Lima High School graduating with the class of 1993 and went on to graduate in 1997 from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 1998 Ann went to work at Diamond Packaging in Henrietta, NY where she was still presently working. A special thank you to everyone there for all the support she has received. The family is so thankful and appreciative of all they did for Ann.

Ann married Daniel D. Marusiak Jr., the love of her life, on October 13, 2001. They first had their son Michael and then their daughter Jessica. Two wonderful children that that mean the world to their entire family.
