She was born in Honeoye Falls, NY on March 11, 1916, the daughter of the late William and Millicent Heimlich Despard. Margaret was a medical secretary at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, NY prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her late husband at their homes in Pompano Beach and Lakeville.

Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard T. Brairton, her sister, Suzanne Dampier and her brother,Wayne Despard. Survivors include 2 children, Richard T. Jim was born in South Wales, where he began a career in coal mining at the age of 14. At 20 years of age he married his childhood sweetheart Faye Jones and soon after, started a family. After the birth of their fourth child, Jim & Faye decided to immigrate to America. Jim arrived in West Virginia six months ahead of Fay and the kids. The family continued to grow, eventually reaching twelve children in all. Jim changed professions after 14 years in mining moving into highway construction, working his way up over the years to head superintendent. This career move took the family across the Northeast, with stops in Lee MA, Massena NY, Niagara Falls NY, Deposit NY, Edwards NY, Schroon Lake NY, Vestal NY, and Bath NY.

In the mid seventies Jim, Faye and the Family moved to their current homestead in the Livonia Hemlock area. The children of course have all long since struck out on their own, with Jim and Faye concentrating their efforts on community service and support. Meals on Wheels, Dog Census, Grange, with Jim serving as the President of the local Senior Citizens group and Treasurer of the Hemlock Fire Department for over a dozen year, the entire community grew to know and love Jim and Faye.

Jim and Faye came to America to build a better life for themselves and their children. By any measure, this dream has been realized. We know that the entire community joins with the family in celebrating his life.

Carl F. Fontaine, 79 years, of Branch St. Livonia, died Saturday December 26, 2009 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris, after a brief stay. Carl was born in Ossian, NY September 3, 1930, the son of Zephir and Agnes Rawlings Fontaine. He was predeceased by his wife, Maybelle in 1979. A retired construction worker, he was a member of Local Carpenters Union #85. Carl served his country in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954, when he was honorably discharged. His membership included the former St. Josephs Church in Livonia, St. Matthews Church in Livonia, also the Dansville VFW Post #6780. He also was a lifetime member of the Canaseraga American Legion Post.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Arlene Moyer of Livonia. His sister, Agnes Nagel of Pickens, South Carolina. 20 nieces and nephews, many dear friends.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, July 7, 1951, the son of Aloysius and Mary Martinelli Giehl. Melvin C. “Butch” Cronk, 66 years, of Honeoye died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Vincent House in Wayland. On Sunday morning, November 22, 2009, at nearly 82 years of age, Jean Theresa Leasure of Rochester and Conway, South Carolina passed after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by many of her loving family members. Jean is survived by husband of 56 years, C. Jay Leasure, sons C. Jay III and wife Eva of Honeoye Falls, Rick and wife Jeanne of Brighton, and daughters Luellen Leasure of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jeanne Leasure and husband Steve Levin of Boulder, Colorado.

Jean was infinitely proud of her family and a deeply devoted Mother and Grandmother. Born on November 28, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, Jean was the only child of Maria and Angelo Pesce. She moved to Rochester in 1951 and met husband Jay at the Country Club Diner in 1952. The couple married in 1953 and went on to own and operate 4 restaurants of their own spending 45 years making customers smile in Rochester and Livingston County. Jean was a very hard worker and generous with customers and employees alike. She was arguably the world’s cleanest and most organized woman. Jean will be missed by many as she touched so many lives. Before her death, she asked of her family and friends to remember the good times and celebrate a life well lived.

Conesus: Miklos “Miki” Szoczei, 69 years of Marrowback Road, Conesus died suddenly, Sunday November 22, 2009 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born November 24, 1939 and raised in Tet, Hungary, the son of Istvan and Irene Eore Szoczei. In 1956 at the age of 17 he escaped from communist controlled Hungary and immigrated to the US. He resided in NYC with his father’s relatives, the Salamons, eventually making his way to Rochester. At age 22, he was proud to become a US citizen. Miki was a member of Local 03, Bricklayers Union for 28 years working as a mason.

He was the beloved husband of Terry Nichols Szoczei; devoted father to Elaine (Kurt) Brehm of Springwater, Miklos Szoczei of Canandaigua and Steven (Cindy) Szoczei of Waldorf, MD., cherished grandfather of Delaney and Markus Brehm, and Bailey Szoczei. loving son of Istvan and Irene; brother of Irene of Hungary.

Edna B. Ingerick, 71 years of Reed Road, Richmond, NY died Monday November 16, 2009 at Highland Hospital In Rochester, after a long illness. She was born in Richmond, August 1, 1938 the daughter of Gilbert and Annabelle Reed Rowley. She was married to Joseph W. Ingerick on September 11, 1954.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; children, Steven (Bonnie) Ingerick of Richmond, Kenneth (Lucy) Ingerick of Richmond and Lisa Pummell of Dansville. 7 grandchildren. 1 brother Gilbert (Alice) Rowley of Honeoye, 1 sister, Jane (Alfred) Cratsley of Canadice. Several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Monday, November 23, 2009, 7 PM at the Honeoye United Church of Christ, Route 20A, Honeoye, with the Rev. Brian Krause officiating.

Rose M. Faust, age 77 of Morgan Estates, Geneseo, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, died Sunday, November 15 at Highland Hospital. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska on July 26, 1932 daughter of John and Ellen Hurst Leonovicz. Prior to her retirement Rose worked for Mutual of Omaha and Fireman’s Insurance Fund.

Rose is survived by her loving children, Theresa Morsch of Conesus; Mary and Greg Stickelmaier of Indianapolis, IN and Edward Faust of Conesus. Beloved caregiver and granddaughter, Jenny and James McManus. Adult grandchildren, Michele Lofink and William Morsch, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; brother Jonh and Dianne Leonovicz of Bellvue, Nebraska; nieces and nephews.

Rosemary L. Wester, 82 years of Railroad Ave. Conesus died Saturday November 14, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rochester, NY January 18, 1927 the daughter of John and Mildred Grienkey Sofie. She served for many years as Conesus Town Clerk prior to her retirement. Rosemary was a member of the Conlon-Mulvaney American Legion Post Auxiliary in Conesus, the Livingston County American Legion Auxiliary and the Livingston County Town Clerks Association. In her earlier years, she also served in leadership roles with the Cub Scouts. A member of the former St. Williams Church in Conesus and St. Matthews Church in Livonia, she was active in the Rosary and Altar Society.

Predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Wester in 1989. Survived by her children, Donald and Heather Wester, Charles and Laurie Wester, and Debra and David McNicholas, all of Conesus. 9 grandchildren, Travis, Jennifer and Amy Wester. Faith and Nathan Wester. Brandi Carr, Crystal (Shawn) Konzel, Melissa and Shannon McNicholas. Nieces, nephews & cousins.
