Geneseo/Livonia: At age 95, Ann passed peacefully on November 24, 2021 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born on July 18, 1926 in Rochester, NY to the late Samuel and Josephine (Vallone) West. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband Bernard “Brud” Nesbitt and her brothers, Francis “Frank” West and Anthony “Bud” West. Ann is survived by her sons; Robert (Michael Mulligan) Nesbitt of Key West, Florida and Charles (Charleen Crump-Nesbitt) of Geneseo; granddaughter, Kathryn Mylo (James) Nesbitt Brennan; and brother, James West I of Lakeville. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ann graduated Livonia Central School in 1943 and went on to earn a degree from Rochester Business Institute. She married her high school sweetheart in 1947 and for many years served as treasurer of Livonia School District. Upon retirement Ann and Brud traveled extensively including Europe, Hawaii, and enjoying a second home in Florida. Ann was a joyous presence to all who knew her. La familia.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 30 th , from 4-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY. Ann’s Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 1 st , at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4 Avon Road, Geneseo, NY. A gathering and reception will immediately follow the mass at the church community room, all are welcome. Burial will follow at 2pm, at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Shelly Road, Livonia, NY. A dear dear person of great kindness and warmth. A sweet soul. I was so very sorry to learn of her passing.
I will always remember Mrs Nesbitt as a kind and wonderful person that tried to help me stay on a better path as I grew up through high school. My heart goes out to Chuck and Bob and their families with their loss.
Ann’s love of family and life was contagious. Her spirit and ability to get the most out of any given time was unique! She loved every interaction and dedicated herself to achieving the utmost joy out of each and every opportunity. She welcomed every new idea and was ready to give it a try! Ann was so much in love with life, the passing years were not going to get in her way of missing a single second. She was blessed with two loving sons, a daughter in law and grandchild that adored and respected her. Although we were not able to see Ann on a regular basis we will miss her immensely and a neighborly visit to her at 4 pm on any given day will never be the same!

Ann Nesbitt was a lovely, kind, caring and very special Lady. She was the beloved mother of our cherished friend, Bobby, who adored her. We were blessed to meet her in Key West whenever she visited and she was a joy to know. Our hearts ache for Bobby, Charles and her family and friends. It is a great loss. Growing up I called Ann “Mom”. She was a second mother to me, always providing encouragement and love. Her smile was infectious. Karen and I send our love and prayers to all the Nesbitt family.

If I’m not mistaken she was the chief cook and bottle washer at the annual game dinner at the Commercial Hotel

Mrs. Nesbitt was a dear friend and work colleague of my mother, Cora Mae May. They both knew.how to keep the office environment lively and fun. What a blessing to all her knew her. Condolences and sweet memories for her family.
