Ralph E. Henry – November 12, 2018

Hemlock:  Ralph passed peacefully at his home on November 12, 2018, surrounded by his family, at age 81.  Ralph was born in Richmond, NY on July 28, 1937 to parents Theodore and Onnolee (Purcell) Henry.  He was predeceased by his brother Theodore “Bud” Henry and sisters; Ruth Gladding, Laura North, and Marion Murray.  Survived by his wife of 58 years Gloria Sue (Harvey) Henry; son Kevin (Darlene) Henry; daughters, Laurie Muscarella (Mark Schlageter) and Linda Gascon; grandchildren, Randi (Patrick) Smalley, Taryn (Colin) Prue, Alicia, Raymond, Curtis and Ryann; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Athena, and Alexzander; brother-in-law Steve (Barb) Harvey and sister-in-law Glenda Farrell; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ralph retired from Getinge in Rochester, NY in 1999 where he was a Maintenance Machinist.  He loved to play cards especially euchre and in later years he played many games of rummy with Sue.  He loved animals and raised cows and horses for many years.  Ralph donated blood every 60 days for over 40 years as he always wanted to help others.  He built his own home, could fix anything, and was often called upon by farmers and friends in the community.  He fixed many homes in Hemlock and made himself available to friends and neighbors.  Ralph taught his family how to work hard and stay honest.

Family and friends may call on Friday, November 16 th , from 3-5:30pm at the Kevin W.   1. We are sorry we missed the notice of Ralph’s passing. Bill always had fun with him at work and a few of the retirement parties.The picture is a true representation of his personality.

We have many fond memories of eating Saturday pancakes and playing numerous card games (Hand and Foot) with you and Ralph and Mom and Gene. I’m sure Ralph and Gene are sitting in Heaven right now playing cards. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

  8. Sue and family it was a great pleasure to be a neighbor of Ralphs and watch him farm his fields and take pride in his land, he was a great guy to myself and family for many years and we will always remember him as a hard working GREAT man. RIP neighbor!!
