Avon: Peacefully on November 24, 2016, at age 89 years, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Predeceased by her husband Rensselear (Rent) D. Cranmer and her siblings; Dorothy Petrie, Betty Daniels, and Robert George. Survived by her children; Jill (James) Lynn of Livonia, John Cranmer of NC, and Larry (Everliza) Cranmer of Honeoye Falls. Grandchildren; Brandon, Joshua, and Samuel Cranmer and several nieces & nephews.
Edith worked for many years as Head Teller at Marine Midland Bank. After this, she became Secretary to the High School Principal at Avon Central School. When her husband passed away in 1982, she worked with her son, Larry, at the family business (Beam Milling Company), as Secretary and Bookkeeper.
She loved gardening (especially caring for her roses), cooking, mowing the lawn (with a cold beer afterwards), going out to lunch, reading, and puzzles. Family was extremely important to her. She loved when the whole family was together. There is nothing she enjoyed more than cooking up a huge dinner for her family. Her grandchildren were a highlight in her life. She was most happy spending time with them. Edith was a loving, caring person with a great sense of humor! She will truly be missed!!
Funeral Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Edith’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 160 Allens Creek Road, Rochester, NY 14618 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 E.
