There are many people in our lives who help to shape the person we become through guidance, love, and understanding. I’m extremely lucky to have had such an incredible person as a part of my journey of growing up. My grandfather Charlie (or “Chaz” as Grandma would often refer to him). There are too many great memories of our times together over the years to list here but here are a few special ones.
I remember the times he would light a fire in the fireplace and then let me help him add the “magic dust” that would make colors appear in the flames. The times he would read to my sister and I in his chair and purposely mispronounce certain words such as “Cinder-smella” that would have us laughing hysterically throughout the stories. The first time he introduced me to golf at Big Oak driving range and subsequently my first round of golf at Shadow Pines Country Club.
As I said there are too many to list here but I’m thankful for all of the times we shared. He truly was a grand father. Thank you Grandpa. I love you and will miss you but will always have you in my heart, mind, and memories.
