Geneseo: Walter J. May, 75 years, of West Lake Road, Geneseo, NY died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Ralph, Alabama, May 10, 1936, the son of Simon and Mary Lucius May. He moved to New York in 1966 and was employed by Birds Eye, Divsion of Genral Foods and Kraft General Foods in Avon, NY for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte; 3 children, Rochelle, Tamara, and Lynette Bailey all of Rochester, NY. 12 grandchildren. 7 great grandchildren,. brothers and sisters, Earl May of Mt. Morris, Tommie (Linda) May, Walter T. May and Jessie Ruth Knox all of Alabama. sisters-in-law, Loretta Bailey of Mt. Morris, NY and Lucille Nelson of Perry, NY. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 6 – 9 PM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Routes 15 and 20A, 21 Big Tree St. Livonia, NY where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 PM with Pastor Gary Owens officiating. Burial, East Avon Cemetery.
