  1. It is with great sadness that I heard and read about Charlie. He and I have been friends since the late 50’s and I have always considered him one of the special people in this world and it was always uplifting to be around him. He was a generous and truly compassionate friend. I remember him lending me his white Crown Victoria for my Junior prom and many other times throughout the years. For 5 years Charlie and I co-owned a boat that we kept on the river. It was a tilted partnership because Charlie did all the repairs and upgrades while I stood by and held the tools for him. We were both part of each other’s wedding parties and after I moved away we still kept in touch often. I will miss his pleasant company on my occasional visits to Rochester. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his three wonderful daughters,: Karen, Chrissy and Jennifer.

  2. Such great memories with my Rochester Sis and bro. So many dance memories and plenty of parties. Now you are together with Dale dancing up a storm including Dick and I’m sure with a few brews in hand. Miss you all, love you all !

  3. So sorry to hear of Charley’s passing. He will be sorely missed by our Gypsum Mills Community. He volunteered to help cook for our monthly community breakfasts, helped string lights for our Christmas display and helped run the Bridge Club for many years. He was a wealth of knowledge for home maintenance and DIY projects. And always willing to lend a hand. He was very proud of his family and his grandkids and spoke about them often. So happy to have had the privilege of your friendship. Rest in peace.

  4. Charlie has been a dear friend for 30 years. I have many happy memories of sqare and round dancing, camping, and playing cards with this sweet German man. Loved his sense of humor and his tangy cucumbers. May he rest in peace.

  5. Will miss my Gemini friend. We shared many wonderful memories and found that there is, or can, be life and love after 80. Who knew?? Feel so privileged to have been part of his “family”, if even for a short time. He often referred to his daughters as “Charlie’s Angels”….they are and he loved them dearly. So happy to have had this experience in life….so sad that it is over. Life is full of surprises – some happy and some, not so much, but it’s life – to be enjoyed! Hugs!!!

  6. Charlie was our best bud! He introduced us to the world of player pianos, and he spent many evenings at our house rebuilding our first one, or solving a case (of beer that is).
Although we are sure the square dance world was not prepared for us, and our laughter, we took lessons with Charlie and Dale. Charlie’s was the best straight man for our antics.
Charlie always had a smile, a shoulder to lean on, and an open door to welcome you in.
He leaves us with many wonderful memories.
God bless you Charlie. Hope to see you on the other side. Love you bud!

  7. Charlie welcomed me, who came from a faraway country, with a very kind and gentle smile. He also taught me many things I didn’t know. I am very grateful. I can’t thank you enough. I’m very sad, but I’m sure he’s happy to see Mom again in heaven. Maybe, they are having a happy dance together now. I will miss you very much.Love ya!

  8. The last of the original Nientimp children. A group that can we can only aspire to live up to in character and longevity. He will be truly missed.

  9. Charley was a wonderful neighbor and friend. He always had a smile on his face and willing to help anyone with their projects.I will truly miss this wonderful man. May god bless
