Conesus/Livonia: At age 90, Dick passed away peacefully at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home on November 6, 2023. He was born on December 17, 1932 in Rush, NY to the late John and Florence (Burger) Forsythe. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Forsythe and siblings; Eugene Forsythe, John Forsythe, Shirley Tozer, Betty Michatek, Ruth Westfield, Edith Curtis, Jeannette Pigott, and Clara Oberlin. Survived by four children; Sharon (Bernie) Hinkson, Donna Forsythe, Jim Forsythe, and Jennifer Forsythe; two grandsons, Zachary (Jordana) Hinkson, and Justin Mundell; and three great grandchildren, Lorelai, Brock and Trace. Also survived by sisters, Florence “Tody” King and Rose Mary D’Amico, nieces, nephews, friends, and many appreciated caregivers at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home.
Dick was a mechanical designer/draftsman and worked at Graflex, Xerox, and Kodak. He excelled in archery and baseball in his younger years, and shared his baseball passion and skills by coaching Conesus Little League teams. He designed and maintained a baseball field for the kids. Dick enjoyed spending time outdoors, photographing scenes, hunting, fishing, and meticulously maintaining his yard and flower beds.
No calling hours will be held. A Memorial Service will be held privately at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home in Livonia, NY. Burial Union Cemetery, Livonia, NY. I worked with Dick in a drafting group at Xerox and also knew him at Kodak. Dick was a great guy to know and work with. He had a unique sense of humor and was well known for organizing group softball games at Mendon Ponds Park and making sure we all knew the words and tune to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish theme song. Condolences and best wishes to his family.
I worked with Dick in the early to mid 1990s at Kodak’s Health Science Division. I was a manufacturing engineer who supported older products. When the engineering drawings needed updates, Dick did the drafting.
He had great suggestions for ways to improve the products or reduce their manufacturing cost, many of which were implemented.
Dick was a stickler for doing things the right way, but he was a ball to work with. I enjoyed many laughs with him when he shared stories with me.
I’m not a person who is into sports–I would not be able to tell you who played in the World Series or Super Bowl–but I did develop some interest in those events because I always joined the office pools that Dick ran, even making money a couple of times.
I feel fortunate that I did get to know Dick for those few years. My only regret is that our paths did not cross sooner.

I worked with Dick at Kodak for many years. He was a very knowledgeable and was our go-to guy for design solutions when we were developing new products, and updating older designs. More importantly it was always fun to interact with him as a coworker…he had a great sense of humor and a story for every occasion. My condolences to his family.
I have lost a great friend in Dick Forsythe and an amazing, Unique, Witty, and always Funny individual that was most certainly a people person, Dick loved kids, the Outdoors, Fishing, Sports especially Baseball & Football ! May God Bless him and keep him in his close company, He will always entertain and keep everyone in good humor ! Rest in Peace Dick my friend, I will miss you greatly you were such an inspiration to me and made my life much richer having known you !

My condolences to Dick’s family.Dick and I worked many years together at Xerox.We had many good times. One of the funniest guys I have ever known.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Dick. He was an absolute comedian who always brought laughter and fun to our Forsythe/Pigott reunions at Moms house in Rush. Such a lovely write up. I remember the house on Pennemite Rd he had animals and critters around all the time. I did not realize he was a sportmans too. God bless you Forsythe siblings. I love you all. My heart goes out to you. You have a lot to be proud of having parent like you had.
