James H. Seeley ~ January 24, 2023

Canadice NY: James was born on August 14, 1951, and passed January 24, 2023 surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents, Harry & Josephine Seeley.

Survived by his loving wife, Stephanie and his beloved sons Stephen (Emily), Cody (Lexi Swift); grandchildren Arya-Grace and Owen. As well as his loving sister, MaryLynne Parmelee along with several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Working as a mason for over 40 years; Jim was never afraid of a hard day’s work to support his family. He also wasn’t afraid to serve his country, when he enlisted in the Navy and served for 3 years.

Jim loved hunting and fishing with his boys as they grew up. Jim was always up to take his sons out on their land to get a mounting worthy eight point buck every season. Fishing was another passion of Jim’s, whether it was on Honeoye Lake or Black Lake, he was there with the boy’s catching bass, pike, sunfish, perch-you name it. Stephen and Cody will cherish those memories with their father forever.

Jim was loved by so many. He always looked forward to going to the Hemlock Sportsman Club to see his dearest friends. It wasn’t hard for him to bring a smile to their faces. There was never a dull moment when it came to Jim, he always had something smart or funny to say about anything and everything. He will always be remembered at the club and there will always be a seat saved for him with a can of Busch beer, just as he would have wanted.

Jim Seeley will be remembered for his kind heart, love for his family and ability to bring light wherever his life took him. His family and friends will grieve his loss and he will be missed dearly. Jim left his mark on this Earth and the hearts of many loved ones. Rest in peace James H. Seeley, you will never be forgotten.

Per Jim’s wishes there will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service held at the United Church of Bristol on February 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at 7177 County Road 2, Bloomfield, NY 14469. In Jim’s honor there will also be a Celebration of Life at the Hemlock Sportsman’s Club on February 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at 4883 South Main Street Hemlock, NY 14466.

  4. To Jim’s family – I knew Jim for many years and he really did always have a funny or smart-alecky comment for people ~ along with a great laugh. When we were at the Gun Club, Jim saw that I was having a hard time catching my breath and he immediately took over what I was doing and made me sit down. Very kind and caring ~ I’m glad I knew him. Enjoy your memories. Cody and Stephen – as time passes, you will see yourselves in your Dad in many, many aspects of your lives and I truly hope it brings you comfort. Hugs…

  5. Our condolences to the Seeley family. I don’t believe we have met as a relative, I am married to your Uncle Bob Salsich, but when I was in high school I babysat Mary Lynn and Jimmy. So sorry to hear of his death. Prayers for you Stephanie, Sons and Grandchildren.
