Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral

Patricia “Pat” R. Branton ~ November 27, 2022

Livonia, NY: Pat passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022 at the age of 83.

Predeceased by her parents Leon W and Aimee Riker and husband James R Branton Jr in 1969. Pat is survived by her daughter Debby (Robert) Christy and son Russ (Joyce van den Berg) Branton; brothers Leon (Pete) Riker and Neil (Helen) Riker; 2 grandsons Kyle & Christopher Fisher; 5 great grandchildren and extended family.

Pat was born in 1939, grew up in Spencer, NY, graduated from RIT in 1960, raised her family in Livonia, NY and retired from ADM/WNY Syrup in Lakeville, NY. She was a devoted 55-year member of the Lakeville United Church of Christ and was deeply involved in their music program – serving as choir director, choir member and pianist.

Pat’s life revolved around her family and close friends. Having lost her husband Jim at a very early age, she raised her son & daughter on her own and rarely looked back. Her independence, strength and resilience over many years was remarkable.

Pat had a lifelong interest in sports, playing tennis, softball and bowling along with enjoying SU basketball and the Yankees.

Thanks to her neighbors Sam & Julie, Gary & Mary, lifelong friend Nancy and many others, Pat was able to fulfill her wish of living at home independently. For that, we are eternally grateful.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Spencer, NY. A gathering of friends and family will be scheduled at Lakeville UCC in the Spring to celebrate Pat’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Lakeville United Church of Christ, 5687 Big Tree Rd, Lakeville, NY 14480 ( Lakeville UCC | Lakeville NY ) or Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home Inc, 167 North Main Street, Perry, NY 14530 ( Suzanne’s CCH | donate ).

  1. So sorry to hear about your mom Debby and Russ. She was a great and strong lady. Hugs to all

  2. Debby- my deepest sympathies to you and your family. I see you inherited some of your mothers traits. She will always be a part of and is singing in heaven’s choir now.
