Livonia: At age 86, Don passed peacefully at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY on May 26, 2022. He was born on October 18, 1935 to the late Edgar and Alice (Piehler) Riley. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by devoted wife of over 50 years, Irene (Borgersen) Riley, who passed on February 12, 2022, and his sister Janyce Walton. Survived by children; Donna (Doug) Sheesley of Greece, Clifton Woodford of FL, Terri (Fredi) Bauert of NC, and Laurie (Bruce Cauder) Woodford of OK; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, brother Tom (Linda) Riley of Geneseo; several nieces, nephews, friends, and great neighbors.

Don graduated from Livonia High School in 1954 and later went to work at Rochester Telephone Company, where he worked for 43 years before retiring. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and was in leagues at Livingston Lanes and Brighton Bowl, he was an avid Syracuse Orange Basketball fan, loved the Buffalo Bills, and enjoyed his home and taking care of his lawn.

A private graveside service for both Irene and Don will be held at the convenience of the family at Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo, NY.   2. So many fun and pleasant memories of Don. He was Janyce and my chauffeur for a few years. We would drive him crazy singing opera to him. Up until recently every time I saw him I would ask him if he wanted me to sing. We certainly had lots of fun. Tom and Dona you have my deepest sympathy. Rest assured he’s happy and in a better place. God Bless, Mariellen or Presky as Don has always called me

  3. So sad to hear this, Don and my Dad were best of friends and they enjoyed each others company…I’m sure they are enjoying each others company (and probably getting into some trouble) in heaven.
