John Walker Williams – April 22, 2022

Honeoye:  At age 78, John passed peacefully on April 22, 2022 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.  He was born in Rochester, NY on July 26, 1943 to the late Reginald and Elsie (Walker) Williams.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Linda Lewis Williams, his second wife Silvia Segas Williams, and siblings, Barbara and Richard.  Survived by children;  Richard (Kerry) Williams of Canadice, Kathlene Williams (David Perkins) of Rochester, and Robert Williams of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Curtis, Gordon Williams, and Robert (Beverly) Williams.  Also survived by many other family and friends.

John was a social, active man that was deeply involved in outdoor activities. He was a very active member of Alcoholic Anonymous and helped many people.

Family and friends may call on Friday, April 29 th , from 5-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 8624 Main Street, Rte 20A, Honeoye, NY where John’s Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 30 th .  Burial will follow at West Bloomfield Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond Fire Dept. and Ambulance, PO Box 469, Honeoye, NY 14471.  TO send a condolence or share a memory please visit:   www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  4. John….or as Russ and the boys lovingly called you “the Old Snappin’ Turtle”, you will be sadly missed. You always had a kind word for me whenever I saw you. I will never forget you and your smile.

  7. There are no words to express how heartbroken We are to see you passed away. If I had to write about all that you mean to us we’d be here all day.
    I remember the tears, I remember the laughter.I remember the midnight phone call when my Dad died just so that I had someone who wanted to listen.

  8. So sorry to see this. I used to see him all the time at Dave’s Towing and once in a while at Surfine. Always pleasant with a great smile and a little chat.

  11. Dear John, I miss you terribly and know no more 5 or 6 am phone calls. I’m always going to remember God doesn’t make junk and your not junk. Has helped so many people. Love you and you and Dave Abbott behave yourselves
