Canadice: Edward “Eddie” Johnson, born in Warsaw, NY on September 22, 1946, to Archie and Mabel Johnson (Spencer), transitioned peacefully on the morning of January 15, 2022. Eddie graduated from Monroe High School in 1964 and attended Monroe Community College. He was an employee of Eastman Kodak Company for 39 years and served in the US Army Reserves.
Eddie will be remembered as a devout husband, father, grandfather (“Poopa”), and friend. Known for his quick wit and wisdom, Eddie always enjoyed a good conversation (or argument) and cherished the time with his family. His family will remember the many vacations, filled with laughter, food, fun with his grandchildren, and the occasional euchre game. Eddie was a life-long learner, whose curiosity meandered through topics like politics, history, philosophy, music and art. Eddie passed on his love of learning and knowledge to his children and grandchildren. His love for his wife and family were the center of his existence. He would often say that his legacy was defined by his children and the family that he and his wife, Dolores, built together.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Dolores, three children, Aaron (Lisa) Johnson, Amanda (David) Hershey and Ryan (Kim) Johnson, and grandchildren Liam, Anna, Leah and Ronan. Predeceased by his parents, his sister Diane, and his grandson, Ethan.
Friends and family are invited to call from 1-3PM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 8624 Main St, Honeoye, NY 14471, where Eddie’s memorial service will immediately following calling hours at 3PM. There will be a gathering at the Birdhouse Brewing Company in Honeoye following the service and all are welcome.

I’m missing him so much. It’s so hard to think of him and also my mom, all the conversations we’ve had that seem like yesterday and then realize they aren’t here anymore. Both gone too soon right and right after each other. Ah, I love you Uncle Eddie and if mom is talking to you up there about angels and such then I know you can both see this as I’m typing it.My prayers are with you Auntie D, Mandy, Aaron, Ryan….Im always here thinking of you all.
Dear Delores, Aaron, Amanda and Ryan. So sorry to hear about the loss Eddie. We had a great time riding together to work, joking around and of course working together at Kodak. We had many interesting times at Kodak and weathered much of the storm there with Kodak downsizings.
Eddie was a good hearted man and we did enjoy a few beers out after work every now and then, where we did discuss politics, work and many other issues. Ed would stand his ground if he thought he was right so we had some pretty good discussions. We were always comparing the rumors we would hear at work. I remember Aaron having a summer job at Kodak and he rode with us to work. Aaron didn’t know what to think of us with all the teasing we did to him.

I’m so very sorry to hear of your loss. I worked in the same building with Ed for a time. We had many interesting chats. And I remember that his favorite from the candy basket was root beer barrels. I pray that all the good memories will wrap you in comfort.

My godfather was a beautiful loving man. Although at years had passed in between visits, we always seemed to pick up right where we left off.
