Honeoye, NY: Robert E. Blair passed peacefully on January 11, 2021 at the Guthrie Corning Hospital at age 83. He was born on March 15, 1937 in Richmond, NY to the late Ellis and Alice Blair. He is survived by his wife Jean (Soback) Blair and children; Mark (Jennifer) Soback, Darlene Bateman, and Michael Deuel. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many other loving family and friends including special niece Alice Mann.
Bob was a veteran who served in the US Army from 1957-1963, and was a life long resident of the Honeoye Community. Bob worked 40+ years as a working foreman for Connors Paving.
A graveside service will be held in the future at West Bloomfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Richmond Fire Department and Ambulance, PO Box 469, Honeoye, NY 14471. I got to know Bob quite a few years ago while doing jobs for and with Connors Paving. Bob and I had a respect for each other and a very enjoyable working relationship. He had quite an entertaining sense of humor while at the same time working at a high level of professionalism. Most recently, (In the past 10 or so years), when I saw him at the park, I would always stop when I could and talk with him. When I didn’t, I felt bad that I didn’t have the time to do so. He was always the same jovial Bob each time. He would bust my balls or just talk about current events that affected us all. His gravelly voice will remain a legend in town. R.I.P. my friend. Craig
