Jeffrey A. McClelland – July 5, 2020

Conesus, NY:  Jeff, age 59, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2020 after courageously battling a lengthy illness. He was born on October 15, 1960 to the late John and JoAnna McClelland. He is survived by his life partner Kati Quinn of Conesus; his children, Jake (Maureen) McClelland of Palmyra and Tami McClelland of Geneseo; his step-children, Emily Sorrentino (Casey McManus) of Lakeville and Matt Sorrentino of Rochester;  grandchildren, Jacob and Evalee McClelland, Alivia Gordon, Russell and Kristian Alexander; step-grandchildren: Amara Monroe, Korbyn and Dominick McManus; siblings, Tracey (Tim) Sweeting and Johnna (Karl) Schrier; special friends, Mike and Helen Burrous and Mike and Debbie Burrous. In addition, many loving relatives and friends.

Jeff graduated from Keshequa High School in 1979 and went on to attend college at Alfred State University. Jeff was a Master Mechanic at ToyotaLift Northeast in Victor. He started with the company in 1982 and continued to work there for 38 years.

Jeff was an avid outdoorsman. He was passionate about hunting and fishing and had a knack for being a great history buff. He was very quick-witted with a contagious laugh and a tremendous sense of humor. As well, he had the ability to bring a smile or chuckle to anyone he came in contact with.

Per Jeff’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A family gathering will be held at a later date. We would like to thank Chunkit Fung, MD,  Sue Sargent, NP, Ronnie Burke, RN and the rest of his team at the Wilmot Cancer Center for giving Jeff the best quality of life possible. In addition, our thanks go out to Leath, Laurie, Serena and Brandi at the Livingston County Hospice for their great care and wisdom.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Livingston County Hospice Fund, 2 Murray Hill Dr., Mt.   3. I’m gonna miss Jeff. I worked with him for the last few years and he taught me a lot, not just about forklifts and other pieces of equipment but about life in general. He always took time to listen to my weird questions and treated me very kindly. He was a good man and I am so sorry for your loss Kati and the McCelland family.

  4. Jeff was one of my very best friends all through High School and for a few years after. Although we didn’t see each other much over the last 20 years we still had some great memories. Fly high my Brother.

  6. So sorry to hear about Jeff. A brilliant electrical mechanic. He was always ready to break up the work day with a hunting story; a discussion about gardening or a chat about a pickle recipe. Much less share said pickle, jerky or bite of venison. He’ll be missed.
