  4. I remember his little classroom and how he was a pioneer in mainstreaming. He treated each of his students with the respect they deserved. They cared for him as much as he did them. He inspired me to work with students with special needs. Blessings and sympathy to the whole Family.

  7. Amy, Julie, Lenny, Rich, and Jamie, I am shocked and saddened by the death of my friend. He was always ready to help someone in need. He certainly helped me on occasion. He was a great teacher, who helped our more needy students learn practical skills that they could use in the “real world.” To say that he will be missed is, indeed, an understatement. May he Rest In Peace.

  8. Dear Baron children: Lenny, Amy, & Julie, step-sons, Jamie & Rich, brothers Pete and John,
Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to all of you and your extended families. Paul was a dear friend to us for so many years and will be so greatly missed. Life will not quite be the same without him.Love,
    Bob & Gail

  9. Lenny, Amy and Julie, I am in California and will not be able to make the calling hours, so I wanted to send my condolences to all of you. Your dad was a great guy. He worked hard, was a friend to all and he was a good teacher. He mainstreamed his students and he taught them hands on practice skills. He took his students from the basement to the main hallways of YCS. He is going to be missed, but the stories will live on.

  10. My condolences to Lenny and family. The loss of a Father leaves an empty spot, that at the very least is filled with fond memories of a life well lived.

  11. My deepest sympathy to the entire family. Paul was my next door neighbor in York and we would share funny stories. He was the only teacher that I can remember at YCS that had special needs students. I always admired him for his unwavering admiration for his students to succeed. Rest in peace Paul.

  12. A very close friend whom I will truly miss. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Baron family. Paul has truly one of the good guys. God will have a special place for him. Gods love. Ellen and Andy Fusco

  13. We were shocked and saddened by his loss. What a giving heart, an educator in all sense of the word. Our thoughts and prayers are with Amy and the rest of the family

  14. I had Mr. Baron for 12th grade 6B studyhall. Every day I’d come in from lunch with an unpeeled orange, and hand it to the kind, funny man in the cargo shorts and hiking boots who gladly peeled it for me while asking about my day. One day I walked in without my orange, and he asked where the orange was. When I told him I had forgotten my lunch money, without a seconds thought he handed me $3, flashed that bright smile and told me I couldnt ruin our daily ritual like that, and to go get an orange. The next day, when I attempted to pay him back, he refused to take the money, instead taking that days orange and asking how my day had gone.

I know this seems like an odd story to put up here, but I thought it perfectly summed up the selfless, caring, funny man who touched so many of our lives in a way I dont know he comprehended.

As a kid, it’s not often that you are treated as an equal, adults tend to talk at you, not with you. Mr. Baron took the time to listen, to engage, and truly cared about each and every student he came into contact with. He was more than a teacher, he was a friend, a confidant, and an amazing role model.

The world was a better place because he was in it. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

  15. My condolences to the Baron family.I will always remember his class room in the basement of YCS and his willingness to give a hand to everyone.

  16. So sorry to hear of Psyl’s Passing. I loved working with him as a friend and colleague.
