Wilma J. Menz (Reeser) – February 1, 2019

Livonia:  Wilma passed peacefully surrounded by her family on February 1, 2019 at age 83.  Predeceased by her parents Chester and Rebecca Reeser and siblings; William Reeser, George Reeser, Helen Barrick, Donald Reeser, and Shirley Neitz.  Survived by children; Tom (Julie) Menz, Pam (Leroy) Clever, Diane (Brett) Colvin, Danny (Lacy) Menz, Jeff (Anne) Menz, Nancy (Stephen) Chase, and Ronny (Jean) Menz; sister Jean (Bill) Barrows; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Wilma enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She loved to travel, gardening, cooking, playing card games and organizing activities at her apartment community. She also loved the occasional trip to the casino! Wilma could make you laugh with her one-liners and jokes . She will be missed by many, but always in our hearts!

Family and friends may call Tuesday, February 5 th , from 6-8pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Livonia, NY where her funeral service will be held at 8pm, following calling hours.  Interment Union Cemetery, Livonia, NY will be held in the spring.  Memorial contributions may be made in Wilma’s memory to Livingston County Hospice, 2 Murray Hill Drive, Mt.   1. I got to know Wilma through Livonia Senior Citizens and truly enjoyed her sarcastic sense of humor and the stories she would tell. I missed her when she stopped coming due to not being well. She could always put a smile on my face. My condolences to the family. RIP Wilma.

  3. I have known Wilma for many years, but recently connected back with her at the Livonia Senior Citizen’s monthly meetings. She always had a smile on her face and had a wonderful sense of humor. My sympathies go out to your whole family in your loss, which is shared by all who knew this wonderful lady. I’m happy to have been a small part of her life.

  4. Wilma was a great friend of my mom’s (Ellie DeClerck) and did so much for her. I loved Wilma’s sense of humor and how down to earth she was … it was always great to visit with her. She left a wonderful lasting impression on all who were lucky enough to know her. She will be missed by many … God Speed Wilma!

  6. It breaks my heart to know Wilma is gone, my memories of her will live on. She was such a fun part of school days and beyond. She always welcomed my daughter Tracy into her home with open arms to spend time with Nancy and siblings. Wilma’s great laugh was contagious ! My sympathy, thoughts and prayers to her family.

  8. I loved chatting with Wilma when we both worked at Livonia High School. She was so funny. She would always brighten my day. RIP Wilma.

  9. Nancy, Tom, Pam, Diane, Dan, and Ron…I’m so berry sorry for your loss. I have so many childhood memories of Wilma! Het laughter and jokes and silliness goes above and beyond. She loved you all! Her grandbabies, great grandbabies, and so many friends. She will truly be missed but when we think of her or tell our memories we will laugh and smile just like her lovely Spirit!! RIP Wilma!!

  11. Kids…Your Mom was a gem..We lived three doors down from your family growing up and you let us be part of your family. Your Mom and Dad didn’t bat an eye when we showed up at your house saying “we want to live here-we ‘re running away from home” The whole family was welcoming and just what every neighborhood needs. We will remember your Mom the rest of our lives. We love all you guys.

  15. So glad I stopped in before leaving for PHX. Wilma was such a special person. I am so glad I got to know her. I will miss her. I will cherish the many memories from our times playing cards, bingo, potluck or just sitting out and joking around. Wilma will be much missed! Nancy you can still stop by.
