The news of David’s Death was not easy to take. David was my boss when I worked for him as a student employee at RIT. He was more a friend than a boss. I can still hear the laughter that always accompanied his yell at me for all those immature, or weird-foreign things I did or said. My favorites were “Boy your life is un-manageable”, “I see myself in you”, “You are the son I never had” even though he was only 17 years older than I, or knowing that I don’t drink he would say “Don’t drink, go to a meeting.” After graduating I always kept in touch with David until he retired, and with me deciding that Facebook is not for me, I lost contact with David. Our friend Tony Bailey tried to pass a message to him that I wanted to get connected with him but death kidnapped him before Tony had a chance. Today I emailed Tony to let him know that I made it through the second disaster that I have been trough since I moving to Louisiana, and to ask him if he was able to get in touch with David. Tony’s email response shocked me as I was looking forward to hearing from a man I am proud to call “My Former Boss.” He will be missed. Let me close by saying that if it was up to me and I could make it happen, I would ask the Buffalo Bills to dedicate their first SuperBowl win to David, because he was their number one fan. I’m certain if he bled, his blood would flow and script “Bills”. Rest In peace my friend. You will always be in our thoughts.
Marwan.
RIP my friend.I will miss our talks onFb.
My sincerest condolences for your loss. May God be with you through your sad time. I want to share with you the wonderful promise God has given us at John 5:28,29. Knowing there is a future for those who have died is a comfort to me and I hope it can be for you too. I am sorry again for your loss.
So sorry to hear of David’s death. I worked with him 34 years ago at RIT. He was fun to work with and did a good job! We had a department softball team that was so much fun. Very happy memories. Rest in Peace.
I knew Dave for 36 years at RIT as my boss. He bought a Syracuse University outfit for my son Andrew after Andrew was born. He hired Andrew to work at RIT as a student employee. Dave always showed me his AAA coin every year of sobriety. I prayed for him to achieve that. I will miss him.

I will always remember Dave’s smile, quick wit and colorful conversations. He was a pleasure to work with. He was a kind soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
We send our deepest condolences in the loss of David. He was an icon on Robbins Lane.So handsome and kind. Sending love to you and with fond memories from long ago…The Johnsen twins and Richard.
Sadness weighs heavy. to lose that smile, the keen advice, the sage comment. It is not lost, we carry him in our hearts, daily, one day at a time. To hear the little throaty giggle under his breath of either recondition or disagreement was always listen for when he was in a room.
To watch him look up from his cup of coffee at the person he was listening to, then his smile, it would make your heart open and the truth come out. David was kind, he was tough when he had to be, he was grateful. As we are all now for having had David to walked on our hearts, his footprints will always be there. Love you friend, and miss you already.
I coached David in basketball and football in his high school days. I am so sad to hear of him passing. I will keep you all in my prayers. David is such a loyal person that I know he will continue to look after his family and friends. Tom Muench
Just thinking about Dave makes me smile. When my daughter Emily was little, she used to cry every time she saw him. I used to joke with him that he made all the girls cry! Miss you buddy.
We were best friends @ RIT going to college and we were fraternity brothers at Phi Sigma Kappa. We never had a dull moment and Dave kept me smiling throughout school and he was the best friend you could have. I will miss him and may he rest comfortable in heaven.
Dave, we will miss you friend.
David was an amazing guy and will be dearly missed. It was an honor and a privilege to call him our friend. Our hearts, thoughts & prayers go out to everyone that mourns the loss of David. May he rest in peace.
