Richmond: At the age of 89, Richard passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 9, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born in Rochester, NY to the late Mary Ann (Fanning) Merrick. Richard is predeceased by his wife, Irene, brothers, Raymond, Robert and James Merrick; son-in -law, Henry Schwering, great-granddaughter, Hannah Guzman. Survived by his son; Richard (Susan) Merrick, daughters; Linda (Michael) Shukitis, Marianne Schwering, and Lisa Teuchert, grandchildren; Kimberly (Candelario) Guzman, Katie (Josh Seguin) Merrick, Kristin (Imoh Ikpot) Merrick, Tricia Merrick, Michael (Sara) Shukitis and Dan Shukitis, 8 great- grandchildren; brother; Donald (Sally) Merrick, sister; Loretta Paul and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 3PM to 6:30PM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 8624 Main Street, Rte 20A, Honeoye, where Richard’s funeral service will take place at 6:30pm,  immediately following calling hours. Interment will take place at 11AM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery on Lake Ave, in Rochester, NY. We will meet at the Lake Avenue Gate at 10:30am.
